A little about Mark Paterson - "The Computer Guru"

Mark has been in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector all of his working life and he maintains an avid interest in technology and devices.  Starting with a bank straight out of high school back in the 1970s in Adelaide, he ended up owning a 55 person software development and "private cloud" services company in partnership with 3 others in Brisbane.  Mark and his wife retired to the Northern Rivers of NSW in mid-2019 and he has seen technology change from mainframe computers (a line of fridge-sized cabinets) that only the banks and insurance companies could afford; through to the advent of the personal computer and then the proliferation of desktop operating systems, racks (or farms) of servers, routers, switches, the arrival of the NBN and fibre optic technology that now powers so much of our modern world.  The fantastic growth of the Internet, the world wide web, and the rise of social media means there is now “an App for everything”.  Couple this with a wondrous feature-rich range of computers and handheld devices, and technology has become integral to each of our daily lives.  If you need some help with using, understanding or configuring your technology, software or devices… then give Mark a call.
